Becki Newton
Becki was born and raised within Guilford (Connecticut) However, she originates from New Haven. She is of English as well as Czech origin and started performing productions, plays and musicals in local theaters. She then went on to study at the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a B.A. European History. Newton took part in as a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority at Penn. Newton following her graduation from Penn in 2006, transferred from Penn to New York City where she landed roles on television for firms like Olive Garden. Newton was the character Amanda Tanen on the comedy-drama Ugly Betty series from 2006 until 2010. Newton hosted the Ugly Betty podcast alongside Co-star Michael Urie. Also, she appeared in ABC.com ?Ts Mode After Hours Webisode Show. Ugly Betty, which had 4 seasons of success by the time it ended it was canceled in the year 2010. This gave the show the chance to get a proper finale. Newton made the New York City Center encores debut in 2009. performance of the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy, which was produced by Jerry Zaks. Her husband Chris Diamantopoulos performed with her in the role of Molly Gray. Newton starred in the television show Love Bites. Cindy Chupack created the hour-long romantic comedies. She also served as an executive producer on Sex and the City. NBC announced the continuation of the series in the month of May 2010.However it was cancelled after Newton announcing her pregnancy, co-star Jordana Spiro was bound by a contract to keep her existing series My Boys (which later was eventually cancelled) and Chupack's desire to exit the show Love Bites was pushed back to mid-season.
